The Daegu City Office of Education (Superintendent Kang Eun-hee) announced on the 19th that it is running a customized spring school program for elementary school students with local libraries to support the operation of the spring school.
Ten local libraries, including the Daegu 2 and 28 Memorial Student Library, the National Debt Compensation Movement Memorial Library, and the Daegu Metropolitan East Library, have organized 53 courses that reflect the interests and development of elementary school students, including Wise School Life with Picture Books, Reading the Mind with Picture Books, Reading English Picture Books, and Moving and Playing Arts and Culture.
The library-linked spring school program is a program in which an instructor visits schools that have applied for a program created by the library and teaches classes with children. In the first semester, 1,115 students from 23 schools participated in the program, and the second semester will reflect the results of the demand survey.
In addition, Daegu City Office of Education is working with local libraries, local universities, local governments, cultural, artistic, and sports organizations, and continuing education institutions to provide a variety of quality educational programs for the school, utilizing the community’s excellent human and material resources to support the school.
“We will continue to work closely with the local community to ensure the successful establishment of Nilbom School, a school that everyone can enjoy and that everyone is satisfied with, by providing a variety of customized educational programs that support students’ growth and development,” said Daegu City Superintendent Kang Eun-hee.
