[Reporter Kim Young-bae, DailyToday] Guri City (Mayor Baek Kyung-hyun) Inchang Library will run specialized programs such as ‘Raon Maker’ and ‘3D Printer Design’, which combine humanities, for 152 classes and clubs from 17 schools in the city from April to November at the makerspace ‘Dreaming Workshop’ installed in the library.
‘Raonmaker’ is designed to provide opportunities for youth to grow their maker capabilities by combining reading books that foster thinking and making that embodies ideas. For elementary school students in grades 2 to 6, there are making programs for each area, including ▲ (3D modeling) making a three-dimensional NGO and clock ▲ (Metaverse) realizing a virtual world with a course space ▲ (AI) making a power-saving house ▲ (IoT making) making a smart house ▲ (Topper experience) making an environmental topper.
In addition, for junior and senior high school students, we offer ▲ Professional 3D Design and Modeling ▲ Career Exploration Program (3D Design and Modeling) so that students can utilize 3D printers during their regular club activities at school, and build opportunities for students to take a step forward in their careers and grow as makers through local connections.
Guri Mayor Baek Kyung-hyun said, “We hope that the reading convergence maker education specialized in Guri City will provide opportunities for youth to read from different perspectives and improve their convergent thinking skills through youth activities.”
